IAM Special Qualification

Full IAM membership is usually offered only to applicants who have prepared for and succeeded in passing the IAM's Advanced Driving Test, a challenge that can take several months. However, if you hold one or more of the qualifications listed below you could be eligible for full membership of the IAM without taking a further test, in recognition of the high standards required to achieve these qualifications.

What's more because there is no test fee, you can join for just your first year's annual membership at only £18.

Join today - all you have to do is download, complete and return the application form and return it to the IAM together with you first year's membership fee and a copy of your course certificate.

IAM membership by Special Qualification is available to holders of the following recognised qualifications:

• Car / LGV / PCV / Motorcycle Examiner's Warrant (DSA)
• Car / LGV / Motorcycle Examiner's Warrant (DDE)
• Fire / Ambulance Service Instructor's Certificate
• Armed Forces Instructor's Certificate
• Grade A Cardington Special Driving Test Certificate
• Regimental Staff Car course (Leconfield)#Defence Staff Car course (Leconfield)
• Wedgewood Vehicle Advance course (Leconfield)
• Emergency Fire Appliance Drivers (EFAD*)
• Ambulance Driver (IHCD D2)
