How can the Group help me?

The Lincoln Group caters for drivers from the central Lincolnshire area as well as the Grantham and Newark areas.

The provision of one-to-one advice on improving your driving and to prepare for the IAM Advanced Test. The guidance is provided by 'Observers' who have themselves passed the IAM Advanced Test, and who have been trained to assess and help other drivers to reach this standard. Your Observer will arrange a series of Advanced Runs with you during which you will drive your own vehicle. The Observer will give you feedback on your driving, both during and after the run.

The Group is a Registered Charity and all the Observers are unpaid volunteers, who are keen to share their skills and knowledge to help you pass the IAM Advanced Test and become an Advanced driver.

The Group can offer guidance driving on the following types of vehicles;

  • Cars - manual and automatic
  • Caravan towing
  • Minibus

Motorcycles are dealt with by the Lincolnshire Advanced Motorcyclists.

How does the Group Operate?

Training is arranged between the Associate and their Observer at times mutually convenient to both for Observed runs.

The Group as a whole meets regularly on the second Tuesday of each month in Lincoln Fire & Rescue HQ, South Park, Lincoln, 7.15pm for an 7.30pm start.

We also publish a bi-monthly newsletter that contains details of forthcoming events as well as articles of interest; you automatically receive a copy when joining the Group.
