The aim and objective of the project is to develop a practical pedestrian training pack including prompt cards for use by Year 4 pupils prior to their independent use of public roads.

The resource will be based on the On the move classroom resource developed by the British Institute of Traffic Education Research (BITER) on behalf of the AA Foundation.

To achieve this the project will aim to:

• integrate the pack into the On the move classroom resource;
• devise a structural approach to adult involvement in using the pack;
• trial the activities contained within the pack with a variety of schools and youth groups in a flexible manner taking into account individual group requirements;
• work outside the London Borough of Barnet in the development of the pack focused at journeys of longer duration/distance and in non-urban environments;
• assemble a pack that can be marketed nationally.
