Established in 1956, the IAM (Institute of Advanced Motorists) is the UK’s leading road safety charity dedicated to raising driving standards and reducing the number of accidents that occur on our roads.

IAM Fleet is the commercial division of the IAM. Promoting the continuous development of personal driving skills and a greater awareness of – and compliance with – road safety standards, we work with organisations to reduce the costs associated with ‘occupational’ driving incidents.

By assisting employers and fleet managers in developing a corporate road safety culture, and designing and implementing a strategy to reduce road risk, we help them fulfil their ‘duty of care’ to all employees whose work activities include driving.

IAM Fleet manages a national network of more than 100 highly qualified trainers who can be deployed throughout the UK and further afield.

All our trainers are DSA Approved Driving Instructors and listed on the DSA Fleet Trainer Register. They undergo a stringent recruitment process prior to selection and induction and are then monitored closely by IAM Fleet’s own team of training managers.

For occupational driver training, all our trainers hold an advanced driver qualification for the category of vehicle on which they provide training.

In addition to receiving comprehensive product training and continuous professional development, IAM Fleet trainers are assessed regularly to ensure that high quality training is delivered to all our customers.

IAM Fleet has the infrastructure to deliver on-road training and ‘refresher’ training at virtually any location in the UK and can also provide off-road training (such as Skid Car, vehicle dynamics and 4x4 training) at selected sites.

In addition, offering organisations and their people greater choice and flexibility when it comes to service delivery, we provide online risk assessments, e-learning, seminars and tailored workshops.
