South Lancashire Group of Advanced Motorcyclists Wins Road Safety Award
The South Lancashire Group of the Institute of Advanced Motorcyclists(IAM) based in Chorley has won a prestigious IAM Group Achievement Award. This nation-wide competition is open to over 200 IAM groups and the award goes to the group which was considered to have contributed most towards safety and the principles of the IAM during the past 12 months. The specially engraved glass trophy and a cheque for £400 was presented to Howard Sidery, Observer Trainer, of SLAM by IAM Chief Executive Christopher Bullock. The award sponsor was John Cushion of Saffron Insurance. IAM National Group Committee Chairman Mike Lyne said: “I am delighted that we have been able to recognize the achievement of South Lancashire Advanced Motorists and all the group to continue their valuable work promoting the IAM in its quest to improve road safety.” ENDS A picture of the presentation is available.
