How can the Group help me?

As an "Associate Member" of our Group, one of our trained volunteer observers will accompany you in your own vehicle and will give one-to-one help and guidance on the system of advanced driving. He/she will also answer any questions you may have on advanced driving.

The ultimate aim of these observed runs is to prepare the Associate for the Advanced Driving Test. There is no fixed number of observed runs, as your progress will depend on your own standard of driving now and your willingness to take on board any advice given. However, all Associates should aim to take the test within the first twelve months.

Observed Runs can usually be arranged for a time to suit the Associate, for example, shift workers or holidays.

Our Group caters mainly for car drivers. Motorcyclists may wish to check out Northumbria Advanced Motorcyclists for details of the Advanced Motorcycling Test.

How does the Group Operate?

All Group members receive the quarterly Group Newsletter which contains a variety of items of general interest as well as Group matters. It also contains a list of our social events and driving-related activities. You will be eligible to join in these activities as a member of the Group.

We meet regularly throughout the year, the venue depending on the type of event planned. Please contact us for details of our next meeting.
