How can the Group help me?
Trained and experienced Observers will assess your driving skills and advise you how your present standard may be modified, leading you to take a Test examined by serving or retired Police Officers holding the Police Advanced Driving Certificate, the highest qualification in Britain, and if successful, you are entitled to be a Member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists.

How does the Group Operate?
Group Associate Members and Observers meet in the mornings of the first two Saturdays and the last two Sundays of each month.
An Observer travels in your car with you for approximately one hour, and with care and sensitivity, advises you how to change your driving techniques, in structured stages, to enable you to reach Advanced Driving Test standard. Theory is discussed with you during the observed drives and for all aspects of the course we refer to three books :- Pass Your Advanced Driving Test; (published by the IAM); Roadcraft (The Stationery Office); and the Highway Code.
