Now that you have passed your IAM Advanced Test, you may be wondering what you can do next. There are a number of options open to you as shown below:
If it was some time since you took the Advanced Test and became a member of the IAM you may be worried about how driving standards have changed. If so, the IAM Driving Assessment can give you some guidance without any risk of jeopardising your IAM membership.
Enjoy a circuit based Skills Day
IAM skills days are held at famous circuits in the UK and offer drivers and riders the chance to improve their skills using their own vehicles. The venues are carefully chosen to offer a controlled environment with IAM Observer guidance throughout.
Re-tests are available and you might like to consider your feedback from the examiner before you go back to your IAM Group.
An 'observer' is a person who has already passed the IAM test and is prepared to help other people prepare for passing the IAM test through what we call 'observed runs'.
The IAM Driving/Riding Assessment is only available to current IAM members. It is an opportunity for members to check that they are still at the advanced standad.
The IAM Special Assessment (soon to be renamed 'The Masters Programme')' for Car and Motorcycle Members is designed to be the ultimate Advanced Driving/Riding challenge for civilian drivers and riders.
