The "Living with the van research" highlighted that different sorts of drivers have different approaches to road safety. Because of this, four leaflets have been produced for working drivers, along with a handy checklist* (PDF 56k), and there is also advice for car drivers hiring vans.
The safer van driver – advice for self employed van users* (PDF 1.2m) builds on the research finding that self employed drivers have a different mindset about driving than those who are employed and provided with a van.
The safer van driver – advice for employees* (PDF 1.2m) completes the range.
The safer van driver – getting from A to B without being noticed (PDF 1.1m) is written for people who would call describe themselves van drivers.
I'm not a van driver (PDF 1.2m) is written for skilled workers, for example engineers and craftsmen, who don't think of themselves as van drivers, even though they drive vans.
A leaflet for car drivers driving hired vans* (PDF 1.1m) is also available.
* Hard copies of these leaflets in reasonable quantities are available from the IAM Motoring Trust (use the email link at the foot of this page).
