Skill with responsibility is no accident. It's about having the right attitude and the right skills.

IAM Roadwise is a one day course that gets you thinking. It will help you develop your awareness of risk and the skills needed to become a safer driver.

Course outline

The course starts at 9.30am and finishes at 4.00pm. There is a forty five minute break at midday, for lunch (not provided).

The morning session in the classroom presents the consequences of bad driving and then involves the group in a workshop about developing your awareness. There are no tests. You will learn about:

• Developing the right attitude towards driving
• The danger of distractions
• The importance of understanding risk

In the afternoon between 1pm and 4pm you will take turns to drive an IAM advanced trainer's tuition vehicle. Your driving will be assessed and you will be given coaching on your areas of greatest risk. You will learn how.

• To develop your awareness
• To use speed responsibly
• To improve your skill

At the end of the session at 4pm you will be given an assessment of your driving and a copy of the full driving report.
