IAM Roadwise FAQs

Does everyone get the same insurance discount?

No. The amount of discount you may get is influenced by your circumstances. IAM Surety will advise you of the level of discount offered, shortly after your course.

Is this a test, do I pass or fail?

No. Your driving assessment is completed by your trainer at the end of the course, so you can develop your driving whilst you are being coached.

If I want to can I do the course again?

Yes, you can take the Roadwise course as many times as you like. Your coaching is tailored to you. So you can advance your skills to a realistic level in the time available.You will be charged at the same rate. A natural progression from taking the Roadwise Challenge would be to prepare for and take the full IAM Advanced Driving Test.

Can I take the Roadwise Course on a restricted licence?

Yes, the only requirement is that you hold a valid driving licence; there is no age or experience restriction.

Can I take the Roadwise Course if I have penalty points on my licence?

Yes, the Roadwise course is about improving your skills and helping you to be less likely to incur any more points or lose your licence altogether.

Can I take the Roadwise Course in my own car?

No, due to insurance and health and safety considerations, training is conducted in a suitable, modern vehicle with duel-controls which will be provided within the cost of the course.

How many people will be on my course?

Up to 14 people can share the interactive workshop.On-road coaching will normally be conducted on a two delegates to one trainer ratio.This gives you the maximum benefit of hands-on coaching and learning by observation.
