  • An initial assessment with a voluntary observer from one of over 200 local IAM groups
  • As many practice drives as you need, providing you with guidance and discussing practical examples that help you improve your skills
  • The 'How to be a better driver' handbook
  • The cost of the advanced test with a qualified examiner (all IAM examiners hold the police advanced driving certificate)
  • Your first year's membership of the IAM

Although we can teach you to become an advanced motorist, there's nothing we can do to ensure your car won't breakdown. Thankfully the RAC offers all new IAM members free Roadside & Recovery* cover for their first year.
